Mayra Pashayan is passionate about living on mission and helping others experience the love of Christ. She is married and is the proud mom of three daughters, along with a beloved furry friend and a few fish that add life to her home.

Mayra has a special heart for children and feels most called to share the Gospel with the next generation. She finds great joy in walking alongside kids as they grow in their faith, discover who Jesus is, and learn how to live out their relationship with Him. Seeing children develop a strong spiritual foundation is one of her greatest joys and motivations in ministry.

Christina Alaniz has faithfully served at Scotsdale Baptist Church for more than 25 years. After retiring in September 2025, Christina returned in April 2026 to serve part-time, continuing to put God first and lovingly serve the church and its people.

Christina is known for her gift of hospitality, her caring heart, and her ability to multitask with joy. One of her greatest joys is visiting with people who come into the church office. She enjoys listening to their stories, encouraging them, and praying with those who need prayer. She also makes herself available to pray with people over the phone, believing that every opportunity to minister is an opportunity to serve God.

Christina retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in 2001 and has then served faithfully in many ministries throughout the church over the years. Outside of her ministry at Scotsdale Baptist Church, she enjoys cooking and baking, listening to Christian music, and spending time with her family.

Christina has been married to her husband, Manny Alaniz, for 45 years. Together, they have three adult children and nine grandchildren, who are a great joy and blessing in her life.

Above all, Christina desires to continue serving the Lord and being a blessing to others wherever God gives her the opportunity.
